Drivers Ed at St. Edwards for the year of 2007

All 4 Classes A,B,C, and D, must be completed…
but do not have to be done in ABCD order.

Classroom Location:
ALL CLASSES WILL BE IN ROOM FA113 AT ST EDWARDS MIDDLE SCHOOL IN ROOM FA113
From 8:00am – until 12:00pm each day (4 hours)

Learners permit or drug and alcohol are not required for classroom attendance but must be taken and paid for by each student eventually!

Learners permit is required for behind the wheel lessons.

Once learners permit is obtained on road lessons will be one on one with pick up at your home.

My parents have read the rules #1-6 and understand the rules and procedure listed for getting no school credit, only an insurance discount certificate ONLY after ALL (4)(4) classrooms, all workbooks, and all behind the wheel lessons are completed. We also understand that missing any days of the A, B, C, D, classrooms on the Saint Edward’s campus may involve the student traveling to Port St. Lucie or Stuart to attend the class that was missed in accordance with A Treasure Coast Driving School’s already existing schedule; or waiting until the next scheduled classrooms at the Saint Edward’s Campus…possibly as long as 6 months or more apart. If we miss a scheduled “on road behind the wheel” lesson we will have to pay $58 to make it up per/hour to A.T.C.D.S.I.

Driver’s Education outline 2008-2009 for… SAINT EDWARD’S PRIVATE SCHOOL

THIS DRIVERS EDUCATION COURSE IS FREE ONLY TO ALL STUDENTS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN THE ST. EDWARDS SCHOOL DURING THE TIME THEY ARE ACTUALLY TAKING THE DRIVERS EDUCATION COURSE.

It is made possible by the Dori Slosberg Foundation and the Indian River County Commissioners along with the efforts of Mrs. Kim Peckham from the St Edwards’s school and A Treasure Coast Driving School, Inc.

DRIVERS ED COURSE WILL BE OFFERED AT Various Times during the year.

THIS IS A NON-CREDIT COURSE.

Student must be 14 years of age before the start of the session in which they are going to enroll. Students must obtain a Learner’s Permit before the 1st driving lesson to operate on road vehicles and receive a completion certificate.

On road lessons will be conducted on a “private” basis with an ATCDSI instructor calling the student preferably after all classrooms and workbooks have been completed.

Classroom hours will be held on pre-determined days see website above or call 772-220-0510. Classroom Instruction will be 4 hours in duration and there will be (4) of them called Class A, B, C, and D. It is suggested but not necessary to take the classes in ABCD order. All classrooms missed on Saint Edward’s campus can be made up in the ATCDSI classrooms located in Port St. Lucie or Stuart; or by waiting until the next set of classes on the Saint Edwards campus. The classroom could possibly be up to more than 6 months apart.

Failure to complete all sections of the program will result in no certificate being issued.

If a student has nothing upon entering; the student will have to…
1.) Enroll in state required 4 hour Drug & Alcohol Class (taken off site)...

If a student has taken the drug and alcohol class before entering but has no permit,

If a student has a learners permit upon entering,

2008-2009 Saint Edward’s School Drivers Education in Cooperation with A Treasure Coast Driving School… Rules, Policies, & Procedures for full completion of program.

1. Drivers Education is taken for NO school credit and NO grades received will remain on transcripts. Only FULL completion of this class will enable students to receive a money saving insurance discount certificate. Full completion would mean any missed test, classroom days, workbooks, and all 6 hours of actual behind the wheel lessons completed.
   
   
2. STUDENTS SHOULD ARRANGE TO BE PICKED UP at 12:00 pm. You will need to be picked up promptly at 12:00 The ATCDSI instructor will not wait for parents to pick students up any later than the scheduled 4 hours after class has started at 8:00 am. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO ROAM OR WALK THE CAMPUS AFTER CLASS IS OVER EACH DAY.
   
   
3. Any class that is missed must be made up either in PSL or Stuart or by waiting till the next Saint Edward’s classroom dates…which could be up to 6 months or more.
   
   
4. All students will be called by an ATCDSI instructor for behind the wheel training or you can call us preferably after all classrooms and workbooks have been completed.
   
   
5. FAILURE TO SHOW UP FOR A SCHEDULED BEHIND THE WHEEL APPOINTMENT COULD RESULT IN NO INSURANCE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE GIVEN UNLESS THE LOST DRIVING TIME IS MADE UP…TO MAKE UP THESE TIMES YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY $58.00 per 1 hour session lost…this is out of your pocket not covered by Saint Edward’s or ATCDSI
   
   
6. All students will be required to keep a binder in class for materials covered and verification of missed assignments. The binder will be kept in the Drivers Education classroom and will be used each day by the students. This binder will need to be purchased by the student and brought to class.
