Take driver education for FREE if you are a student enrolled in public school in Martin, St. Lucie, or Indian River County. 

  • All students must have a learner's permit to register. Learn more.
  • Student must attend a "PUBLIC" HIGH SCHOOL, no home school except in Indian River County
  • Admission is on a first-come-first-serve basis so long as funding is available.
  • St. Lucie County is only available in the 2nd and 4th nine weeks sessions. 
  • Registrations will be available in late June / early July 2024 for the 2024-25 school year. Online Course

The online course was created by A Treasure Coast Driving School and it is the exact same language and concepts solidified by our behind-the-wheel instructors. It is NOT the same course you have done for your permit. This program actually teaches you what to do behind the wheel! (The 4-Hour Alcohol Drugs Accident Prevention Training Course and the Learner's Permit Test are not included and must be obtained before enrolling). You will learn right-of-way theory, defensive driving techniques, and other lifelong skills to help you become a safe, confident driver. This course may also help you save money on insurance.

You will receive an email from info@atreasurecoastdrivingschool.com 7-10 days before the course starts. Once you confirm your email, you will be considered enrolled in the course and not allowed to sign up again anytime for any year.

You must complete all sections of the program to be issued a certificate and schedule in-car driving lessons. 

Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons

Upon completing the online course, your certificate will be sent to an instructor who will contact you to schedule your driving lessons.

There will be two grouped driving sessions. Each session includes three lessons, each three hours long. 

You are required to bring your permit to your driving lessons.

All driving lessons will start and end at your high school. You are required to provide transportation to and from lessons. Please be on time for pick-up and drop-off. Our instructors have tight schedules, and they cannot wait for you.

Failure to attend a driving lesson appointment will result in no insurance completion certificate. You must purchase an additional driving lesson outside of school to make up the time. There are no exceptions.

Need more practice? After you complete the entire course (online and 2 driving lessons) you have the option to purchase additional driving lessons at a discounted rate.
